Dear Colleague,

The Officers and Board members of the Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Philippines are very focused on the continued development of a pro-active program for the benefit of the general membership. To effectively allow us to remain a powerful and effective voice of the hotel and restaurant industry, we need your involvement and your voice in our organization.

The need for unity among members of the hotel and restaurant industry is greater than ever today. As other sectors prepare to meet various contingencies and plan for our recovery in the economic and tourism areas, we, as the hotel and restaurant sector, must make our voices heard and our presence felt. Alone, each individual hotel, resort, or restaurant may manage to tackle certain problems or concerns that arise from time to time. But think of how, collectively, we can all act as a single forceful voice championing our common welfare, interest, and rights vis-à-vis other sectors. Even individual problems confronting one member could be the concern of all. Together we can be a major force under the Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Philippines.

We need to continue to fight against ill-conceived legislation and other adverse factors that will continue to erode the very foundation that we all fought vigorously for over many years.

We invite you to become part of this effort. Our members are not limited to big/deluxe establishments. Our membership comprises a wide cross-section of independent hoteliers and restaurateurs. May we invite you to become an active member of HRAP now by accomplishing the enclosed application form.

Your participation and membership are needed to enable us to regain our solid position for an industry association that is highly regarded by government, unions, industry bodies and affiliated associations both nationally and internationally. We would be honored if you join us in strengthening the Hotel and Restaurant Association, as we celebrate the millennium and the 50th Foundation year of HRAP in 2001.

We hope to welcome you to HRAP.

Yours sincerely,

Invitation letter for Provincial Chapters

You will note that under the Provincial Chapter scheme, you will pay only a basic fee of P5,000 plus an annual contribution of P250 per member - to be used as your chapter's contribution to the printing of the HRAP Annual membership directory.

For Chapters there are also added concessions; we have waived the P5,000 fee for the year 2000 - which means you only pay the P250 per member for our directory listing, so all members of your chapter get equal billing. Also sometime at the end of this year, we will convene a Chapter Presidents meeting - wherein we can brainstorm, propose and agree on new programs for the year 2001.

Please note that in our desire to get provincial participation moving, HRAP has elected and also appointed new Board Representatives from the provinces in our governing Board.

These are:

bullet Mr. Salvador Cornelio, GM - Cebu Plaza Hotel, Hotel Sector Board representative,
bullet Ms. Ruth Minerva Cruz, GM - Bacolod Convention Plaza, Visayas Representative and
bullet Mr. Rene Concepcion CEO - Days Inn Hotel, Luzon Representative nd
bullet Mr. Mariano Pamintuan, GM - Apo View Hotel,  Mindanao Representative.

Your participation and membership are needed to enable us to regain our solid position for an industry association that is highly regarded by government, unions, industry bodies and affiliated associations both nationally and internationally.
